My Dad was Ops. Off.(Cdr. WV Collins) in '64. He has passed away, but I remember his fond memories of the Currituck. He took my first car ('54 Chev)on board to use on Okinawa. Sure was sad to see both the car and Dad go on deployment . Great Web site thanks for taking the time. Jr.

Shipmates: I came aboard the Currituck in '64 and served aboard in the Supply Department 's S-1 Division until decommissi oning. I am now a novelist and have taken all of my journals from my days on active service to write the new novel: MORE THAN A JOB, AN ADVENTURE. My novel is available on Amazon.com . You can go there and read many reviews. Some written by fellow shipmates. It is a great book and you'll probably recognize some of your fellow shipmates, although I have formated the book as fiction... to avoid being sued.

Hi,
I was a Torpedoman on the Currituck in "W" Division from January 1963 until July 1966. Made 3 memorable West Pac cruises. Would like to hear from shipmates from "W" or "G" Div.
